Mlini

potok

Mlini is a small township situated around the bay of Župa Dubrovačka, only 7 km from Dubrovnik. Once, it was the centre of Dubrovnik`s water-mill commerce, to which it owns its name. Before the construction of Dubrovnik`s waterworks system, it supplied the town with fresh water, which was transported by ships to Dubrovnik. Today, you can take a regular boat, which departs from the little harbour, to Dubrovnik and Cavtat several times a day.
Take a walk along the promenade that passes through the village and enjoy the scenery and pleasant scent of the Mediterranean vegetation, or go for a swim on the local beach and take pleasure in the scent of the sea and the colours of unforgettable sunsets. In the vicinity of the beach is situated the church of Saint Hillarius, built in 1449 (damaged in the big earthquake of 1667 and rebuilt in 1687), as well as the little church of Saint Roch. The rests of Roman buildings as well as the summer house of Benedict Stay have been preserved too.
